  • Cotton is a natural fibre: it breathes, so heat and sweat escape instead of being trapped against the skin, and it is soft and gentle on sensitive skin with none of the static or cling of polyester. It also takes dye well, so the colours stay rich.

  • The fabric weight. Thin tees go limp and see-through after a term. This is a heavier-weight cotton jersey that holds its shape at the neck and hem, isn't see-through even in white, and takes a weekly 40° wash without twisting or thinning.

  • Size by your child's height using the guide above rather than age alone. The fit is a classic unisex cut with room to move. If between sizes, go up, and allow for a little shrinkage on the first wash as with any pure cotton.
